Where it fits
Process position.Economical high-flow pre-filtration on the facility side: pre-RO duty, facility recirculation water, wastewater treatment and upstream chemical processes. The brief is "reliably capture large particles at the lowest cost", not fine filtration.
Three-layer graded pore structure
Key characteristics
Key features.Pore size decreases across three layers from outside in, capturing particles in size-appropriate layers and giving markedly higher dirt-holding than single-density melt-blown media.
Surface treatment for added area
Grooved, embossed and orange-peel surface treatments are available. At the same outer diameter, surface treatment increases effective filtration area, lowering initial pressure drop and extending change-out intervals.
100% virgin PP
Made from 100% virgin polypropylene, resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis and organic solvents across a broad range of duties.
Lowest cost
The lowest unit price of all the pre-filtration options, suited to facility applications with stable feed water and low change-out cost.
Choosing between options
When to upgrade.
| Situation | Recommendation | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Change-outs too frequent, downtime expensive | Move to JY-UW31 rolled | Around 3× the dirt-holding and life, lower total cost of ownership |
| Too many cartridges, change-out takes too long | Move to JY-UW32 high-flow | Cartridge count drops ~90%, change-out labour falls sharply |
| Semiconductor-grade low extractables needed | Move to JY-UW33 electronic-grade PP | Adhesive-free, low extractables, fast conductivity recovery |
| 30nm fine filtration needed | Move to JY-UW11 asymmetric PES | Membrane fine filtration, a viable UF alternative |
