PFA Filter Housing with Fool-proof Lock

Product ID: pfa-filter-housing-fool-proof-lock|PFA

All-PFA high-purity filter housing designed for advanced semiconductor processes. Every wetted part is perfluorinated, delivering parts-per-trillion cleanliness with very low metal-ion and organic extractables. The fool-proof locking design keeps the cartridge locked inside the bowl so the two come out together — a zero-contact change-out that sharply reduces both operator chemical exposure and the micro-contamination that a normal change introduces. The compact bowl also saves valuable tool-side space.

Body material
Injection-moulded PFA head and bowl; Ø135 mm bowl outer diameter
Wetted materials
The wetted flow path sees only PFA and the elastomer O-rings. The locking ring (PVDF / PP / ECTFE), union nuts (PVDF or PFA-coated) and the eight M8 fasteners all sit outside the flow path as non-wetted parts.
Seals / O-rings
Housing O-rings in E-FKM or FFKM; the cartridge seals on two 222-style O-rings
Cartridge capacity × length
Single cartridge in 5" / 10" / 20" / 30"; a 222 flat interface, so standard third-party cartridges fit
Inlet / outlet connections
Inlet / outlet 1" or 3/4", in a choice of three interfaces common to semiconductor lines: flare-seal (Flaretek), Super Pillar or S300
Closure type
Fool-proof locking-ring closure. The cartridge locks into the bowl first, so bowl and cartridge come out as a single unit — the operator never touches the cartridge and cannot fit it the wrong way round. The head is secured by eight M8 bolts and union nuts.
Design pressure
0.75 MPa (108 psi) @ 25 °C; 0.3 MPa (43 psi) @ 100 °C
Design temperature
100 °C (212 °F)
Surface finish
Injection-moulded PFA throughout — the bowl has no weld seams or dead legs, so mechanical polishing does not apply. Flushed with UPW before shipment, with metal extractables controlled to ppt level.
Vent & drain
One vent on top and one drain at the bottom, 1/2" or 1/4", in the same fitting family as the inlet and outlet
Regulatory & validation
No metal anywhere on the wetted surface, so it suits high-purity chemical and UPW lines. Material certificates and metal-extractables reports are available for process qualification.

Note: actual compatibility and service life depend on chemical concentration, temperature, flow, differential pressure, upstream contamination load and housing design. Validate under your real process conditions.

Housings and cartridges are ordered separately. Confirm that the cartridge end-cap style matches the housing before selecting.

One vent on top and one drain at the bottom, in the same fitting family as the ports, so the style is not repeated in the code. This segment follows the surface finish, e.g. JY-HSC1-10-F10-KN-V2. The dimension table above lists only the port configurations with published dimensions; anything else is made to order.

Not every combination is a stock item; uncommon combinations are made to order. Confirm with JIUNYUAN sales before ordering.

A = overall length including fittings, which varies with cartridge length; B = outside span across the two port fittings. Bowl outer diameter is Ø135 mm and the head is held by eight M8 bolts. An em dash means that length is not offered in that port configuration.

Where it fits

This all-PFA housing goes on semiconductor wet-process chemical and ultrapure water lines, taking a single cartridge on the standard 222 flat interface. It solves what a stainless housing cannot: any metal on the wetted surface becomes part of the process metal background, and an advanced node has no room for that background.

Key characteristics

The body is injection-moulded PFA with no weld seams and no dead legs, so mechanical polishing simply does not apply — a stainless housing needs polishing to bring its surface area down, while PFA never has the problem in the first place. The wetted path sees only PFA and the O-rings; the locking ring, union nuts and the eight fasteners all sit outside the flow path.

The fool-proof locking-ring closure is an operational design. The cartridge locks into the bowl first, and bowl and cartridge then come out as one unit. The operator never touches the element and cannot fit it the wrong way round — remove contact and misorientation as variables and the micro-contamination added at every change-out falls sharply.

Choosing between options

The two housings on this site do entirely different jobs:

Operation & change-out

At change-out, bowl and cartridge come off together and the wetted path is never opened on the floor. The 222 flat interface accepts standard third-party cartridges, so the housing does not lock you to one model. Two fluoroelastomer O-ring options are offered; state the actual chemistry at enquiry for strongly oxidising or hot service. The vent on top and drain at the bottom use the same fitting family as the ports.

!
A plastic housing derates steeply with temperature. The ambient design pressure falls to less than half of itself at 100 °C, so any line running hot chemistry or hot UPW flushes must be checked against the elevated-temperature figure — the ambient number cannot be used to sign it off.
What is zero-contact change-out?
The patented locking design lets the cartridge and housing be removed as one unit, so operators never directly touch the cartridge during change-out, greatly reducing chemical exposure and micro-contamination.
Why suit advanced fabs?
Built from PFA with parts-per-trillion (PPT) level cleanliness, it keeps process chemicals extremely pure, making it an ideal housing for advanced semiconductor processes.
Does it help with tool space?
Yes. Its integrated, fool-proof locking design simplifies change-out and saves valuable tool space, suiting space-constrained installation environments.

Why All Teflon Filter Housings Are Essential in Strong Acid and Alkali Environments: A Materials Science Analysis

Starting from the 485 kJ/mol C-F bond energy, this article explains why PTFE and PFA resist pH 0–14 across all common process chemicals. It dissects the failure mechanisms of 316L stainless steel (passivation collapse, pitting corrosion), PP (swelling in HF), and PVDF (dehydrofluorination in hot alkali), then defines the strict All Teflon specification — housing body, lining, O-ring seals, and fasteners all in fluoropolymer. Covers semiconductor wet benches, pharmaceutical cytotoxic API synthesis, and lithium battery electrolyte filtration, with a practical procurement checklist.
