Semi-grade All-PTFE Disposable Capsule Filter

Product ID: semi-grade-all-ptfe-disposable-capsule-filter|Semi-grade All-PTFE

Flagship perfluoro filter element specially designed for semiconductor wet processes. It adopts high-flow PTFE filter membrane with PFA skeleton, which has precise interception capability from 10nm to 0.2µm. It is resistant to extreme chemicals such as SC1, SC2, 49% HF, HNO3 and NMP, provides ultra-low extractables and excellent temperature resistance (up to 180°C), and is the guardian of advanced process yield.

Filter media / membrane
PTFE microporous membrane, high-flow grade — the retentive layer is itself a fluoropolymer, rated for continuous contact with SC1, SC2, 49% HF, HNO₃, EKC and NMP
Support & drainage layers
PFA perfluorinated support and drainage layers — the same fluoropolymer family as the membrane, so the flow path has no dissimilar-material interface
Body material
One-piece PFA shell, core and end caps, thermally bonded with no adhesives and no metal parts anywhere in the build; element and shell are welded together so a change-out never opens the wetted path
Seals / O-rings
No main O-ring — the body is thermally welded; port O-rings in FFKM perfluoroelastomer or TEE (PFA-encapsulated EPDM), with FFKM recommended for strongly oxidising and hot chemistries
Micron rating
10 nm / 15 nm / 20 nm / 30 nm / 50 nm / 0.1 µm / 0.2 µm / 0.45 µm / 1 µm
Effective filtration area
Internal element Ø68 mm: 1.2 m²/10"; Ø83 mm: 1.8 / 2.2 / 2.8 m²/10"
Inlet / outlet connections
Inlet/outlet 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" or 1" in flare or Super Pillar all-fluoropolymer fittings; available as in-line, T-flow, and T-flow with core vent
Hold-up volume
The one-piece fluoropolymer build keeps the internal volume small; an in-line body holds noticeably less than a T-flow body, so both chemical loss at change-out and the subsequent flush volume are lower. Actual figures depend on configuration and port size
Vent & drain
In-line bodies take a 1/4" vent/drain projecting 35 mm; T-flow bodies take 1/2". A T-flow with core vent variant vents the inside of the element through the core, shortening start-up de-aeration
Max operating temperature
180 °C
Max forward differential pressure
0.58 MPa (84 psi) @ 25 °C; 0.1 MPa (15 psi) @ 180 °C
Recommended change-out ΔP
Single-use construction — it is not cleaned or regenerated. Set the change-out ΔP from your process SOP; common practice is 3–5× the clean initial ΔP or half the housing design pressure, whichever comes first
Sterilisation
Supplied non-sterile for semiconductor wet process duty; the all-fluoropolymer build is rated to 180 °C and tolerates hot chemistry and hot UPW flushing
Wetting & flushing
Hydrophobic membrane supplied dry or UPW pre-wet; the pre-wet option removes the wetting and flush-out step at start-up, while a dry unit must be wetted out before it reaches the rated flow
Extractables & cleanliness
Metal cleanliness selectable at < 0.5 / < 3 / < 10 µg/device with an electronic grade also available; the all-fluoropolymer build keeps extractables and other process contaminants extremely low
Integrity test
100% integrity tested before shipment
Packaging
Dry packed; UPW pre-wet packed
Regulatory & validation
Assembled, cleaned and packed in a cleanroom; the adhesive-free, metal-free fluoropolymer build addresses advanced-node limits on metal and organic contamination

UPW at 25 °C, 10" disposable capsule with a Ø83 mm element (2.2 m²), 3/4" connections, clean initial ΔP Right axis shows the same values in psi.

These curves include the shell and port losses, not just the media section. A 1" connection runs roughly 10 % lower ΔP at the same flow, and the 1.8 m² build roughly 20 % higher. For a process chemistry, scale ΔP by its viscosity ratio at the operating temperature.

Ratings are general material-level guidance, not guarantees. Actual concentration, temperature, exposure time and mechanical stress all affect the outcome — validate with samples under your real process conditions before adoption.

Key characteristics

Key features.Shell, support and end caps are all PFA — the same fluoropolymer family as the membrane, giving consistent chemical compatibility and low extractables, rated to 180°C.

Three flow configurations

In-line suits straight pipe runs; T-flow suits layouts needing venting or bypass; T-flow with core vent purges gas from inside the element completely, preventing air pockets from stealing effective area.

Simple installation

The one-piece structure locates positively, eliminating the bypass risk of a misaligned element or an unseated O-ring.

!
Pressure capability falls sharply with temperature — at 180°C it is roughly one fifth of the ambient rating. Size piping and pumps to the pressure limit at your actual operating temperature.

Choosing between options

Why choose a one-piece disposable.Changing a cartridge means opening the housing, pulling the element, cleaning the vessel and fitting a new element — every step an opportunity for operators to contact residual chemical and for external particles to enter the system. A one-piece disposable integrates element and shell, so change-out replaces the whole unit and the only contact points are the inlet and outlet fittings.

Three practical gains: operators never contact hot aggressive acid; no housing-cleaning labour; no batch-to-batch cross-contamination from vessel residue. The trade-off is higher per-change cost, so it is typically deployed where the chemistry is hazardous or the cleanliness requirement is extreme.

One-piece all-fluoropolymer

Why an all-fluoropolymer build?
The PTFE membrane with PFA core resists SC1, SC2, 49% HF, HNO3 and NMP, and delivers ultra-low extractables with tolerance to 180°C for semiconductor wet processes.
What ratings are available?
The filter offers 10nm to 0.2µm precision retention, suited to the strict particle control of advanced semiconductor processes and helping protect yield.
Why a disposable design?
The disposable capsule installs fast and avoids cleaning-residue contamination. With ultra-low extractables it cuts cross-contamination risk in advanced processes.
